Background

Taiwanese founders considering the United States often face the same problem: the market is legible from a distance, but the ecosystem is not. Knowing that a state has universities, accelerators and investors is very different from knowing who to talk to, what they respond to, and what a realistic first conversation looks like.

Business objective

To give founders direct, unmediated exposure to the people and institutions that make up Arizona's innovation ecosystem, so that any subsequent decision about entering the market is made from observation rather than assumption.

Market opportunity

Arizona's innovation ecosystem is still forming around its advanced manufacturing base. For an early-stage company, a forming ecosystem can offer more access than a mature one — shorter routes to institutions, more willingness to meet, and less competition for attention.

Current progress

  • Founder exchange sessions between Taiwanese and Arizona-based companies.
  • Engagement with the Arizona Commerce Authority on state-level resources and programmes.
  • Engagement with Arizona State University on research, talent and innovation programmes.
  • Visits to incubators and accelerators operating in the metro area.
  • Introductions to investors and mentors active in the local ecosystem.
  • Industry-specific connections aligned to each participating company.
  • Education sessions on the U.S. business environment, entity structures and market-entry considerations.

CnC Venture's role

We design and coordinate the programme: identifying which institutions and individuals are genuinely relevant to each participating company, arranging and preparing the meetings, and providing the context on both sides so the conversations start from a useful place.

We also handle the unglamorous part — briefing founders on how a U.S. conversation differs from a Taiwanese one, and what a follow-up is actually expected to look like.

Next phase

Continued engagement with the institutions already met, structured follow-up for companies with specific interest, and support for those choosing to move toward a formal market-entry evaluation.
